Ashton Kutcher on Blah Girls

...And, his advice to entrepreneurs, really he has some

Ashton Kutcher's startup Blah Girls has gotten a lot of press.

In this video, Ashton gives us his take on his experience as an entrepreneur.

There wasn't much to his lessons. I guess that's not surprising, given that he's an, uh, actor for a living. I don't even think he's played an entrepreneur in his character. Nonetheless, in this video, you get a sense of how he describes Blah Girls, and a few aphorisms: Find more ways to give; when you receive something, find a way to share it; leave the box wide open.

The site, for those unfamiliar with it, essentially is a celebrity gossip site hosted by three cartoon girls - Brittany, Tiffany and Cristal, who look like they're straight out of the South Park animation. Think People magazine meets South Park meets TMZ. Images of celebrities are posted onto the site and the three characters offer up jaunty zingers "of what's the goins on," as Ashton says in his video pitch he gave to Vator.

It's unclear, however, what age the Blah Girls site is targeting. I'm not sure who'd want their teenage kids to be looking at this.

But in the end, it's just a bunch of girls being girls, and Blah, blah, blah-ing about stuff, like boys.

Meliza, Fark is cool, but I just don't seem to have time in my day for it. 1) WDXfreight.com 2) MSNBC.com 3) Vator.tv and 4) thefunded.com 5) everything else, including http://tinyurl.com/2q9j9y

Hmmm,i would say this is defently like a girly south park.I think the scene with the joint and bong in the adoption episode is not really responsable, sends out the wrong message to young kids, but then controversial things make people talk more about them.I'm sure this will be sucessfull

Good point, Gary. It would be tough to compete with Fark. Are you a Fark fan yourself?

From what I see, there is really nothing about this business that is new or different, although entertainment is a huge market. It is really going to come down to execution, can they keep the quality of content high? Can they consistently challenge sites like fark.com, tmz.com and http://tinyurl.com/2q9j9y

I think this interview is an awesome step foward in making Vator News something to talk about it. The higher the status of people interviewed the more cretibility it gives your company as well as connections....Meliza and Bambi Makin it Happen!!!!

If this huge celebrity entrepeneruialship grows further then clothing lines, perfumes and other rubbish then Ashton is going to be a huge trend setter in the near future, I checked out one of the videos, and I have to say I will be very interested to see if this can take over some real life celeb news and popular culture shows, although by the end of the video I did find the "Blahgirls" a little annoying, but a mixture of Ashton's huge charisma and comedy should help this web series previal to all new levels.

Passion is a key driver to building a business and Ashton's got heaps of that... Per the out of the box thinking, not sure Blah Girls qualifies... I can almost imagine the brainstorming sessions that went into creating Blah Girls, lots of, no dude, dude, check it out... dude.. and other witty banter --- It'll be interesting to see if Blah Girls catches on, as Mitos Suson comments, "only time will tell". Truly a blah website with a lot of blah behind it. And that's MY comment for today on popular culture. Meliza and Bambi, YES. Britney and Madonna, NO.

Awesome. I agree with Ashton. If you give, you always receive tenfold; the joy and fulfillment in sharing your blessings, and thinking outside the box. Simple laws of the universe which applies to business as well. Site is cute, attractive graphics, and I am sure it will get the message through it's target audience.Of course, only time will tell. Thanks for the interview, Meliza.

So yeah, this could be George Clooney's new web site ... or the Dixie Chicks' for that matter. The names change, in this case Mr. Kutcher's, to entertain the innocent. Meliza, I wonder what the goal of BlahGirls is. Is this for making $$$$? Is this an attempt to entertain boppers with cartoony video? Engage them. Perhaps even influence them. It is easy, as Meliza indicates, to be cynical about the actor's intentions as co-founder of the venture. I am willing to give BlahGirls a chance, if only to see if it reaches into the minds of its audience. -- thomcalandra.com

WoW! Once again, thanks to Vator.TV, no stone is left unturned. I try to keep up with Hollywood based Internet start-ups, but this one slipped through the cracks. A nice niche, it will be interesting to follow in the coming months to track the progress. The site looks fresh, and definitely carries a unique flow, but content, (good content) is king--so only time will tell its fate. It appears the domain was registered this summer, so it looks like they are moving fast! Nonetheless, with Ashton's hand in the mix, I'm sure it will be a success, one way or another. Goodluck Ashton, and David &amp, Goliath! NY
